Whoever wishes to recognize and exploit opportunities and potential of direct marketing in Bulgaria, has to enter the topic and threw preconceived prejudices.

 

Direct marketing concept evokes the most different associations. Some people think about a short-term direct marketing campaigns to sales at reduced prices and aggressive methods of advertising and sales. Others  see it as the opposite or even competitive discipline of traditional advertising. And both are thinking just about a small part of Direct Marketing.

 


Direct marketing is one of the most important areas of marketing in general (in Germany it is number 3 after TV and Print-Advertising). Majority of companies using direct marketing as a strategic tool with long-term goals, respectively, in the form of management of customer relationships. In this direct marketing plays a central role as an adjunct or alternative to traditional advertising in all sectors and markets.

 

The situation in Bulgaria is still completely different. Direct Marketing knowledge is not broad and it is a niche-market for a few companies and expert. Average Bulgarian Person receives only 1 addressed physical Mailing per year (compared to the Netherlands 145, USA 344).
